Hey guys, I'm trying to develop unique tactics for my RC Strasbourg club. I'm sick of seeing the same old same old.
I'm going to list what I want in a tactic
1. Possession (duh)
2. Uniqueness
3. Central MC playmaker
4. MCl/r who plays a sort of Iniesta role (MC/AMC hybrid)
5. No central strikers
Now that I told you what I expect out of my formation, I'll ask you advice on a few formations.
I started workin on this formation a couple weeks ago. It's probably my favorite, and most unique. the 3 defenders play like the defenders in Barca's 3-4-3 formation. The spread of the defenders plus 2 DMs make for great passing angles out of the defense and they almost never get caught on the ball. This formation provides extreme possession and passing efficiency. The problem? DM's don't always properly mark strikers despite specific marking instructions. When they do mark properly, it's lights out. But even with world class players, it's still a **** shoot.
-----
So this formation fixes the defense issues, but the lack of a DM leaves a good bit of space for attackers to exploit. Can't stand playing without DM for this reason.
-----
This formation has similar DM issue. I play the CMr as a more defensive player, but since he plays on the side, it limits his effect.
----
This formation gives me the DM. The issue with this one is the DM will often be completely worthless on offense since the MC usually plays just in front of him. If I move him over to the DMr position, I have the same issue as the previous tactic.
---
This would naturally seem like the best choice. Issue is it's not as unique. I also note that the AMC is less effective than when he plays on the AMCr position (playing on the Cr position allows him to make diagonal runs) and lets him link up with the AMR. Also playing in AMC limits the space the MCl gets to work with. He will make less runs and will stick more to the touchline. If I play the AMC in Cr it allows the MCl to be a sort of AMCl. This formation also limits the MCr (playmaker) passing options as he tends to favor the right side of pitch and will overload the right side with passes to AMR making the tactic unbalanced.
I'll touch up on this later, have to go watch TV show. Thanks for advice
