I have decided to take on a Manchester United game, however, i will be focusing almost entirely on youth. Especially British and Irish youth where possible.

I feel the first season is important to bring in plenty of wonderkids and let them develop and flourish, however, by the second season i will look to sell the aging stars such as Vidic and let the youngsters make up the first team.

This season we've been drawn in the Champions League with Real Madrid, Unirea and Olympiakos.

Lol, 23.5 mil for Wilshere is a lot. I've got him on loan 6th season for 100K. Hope you do well though, good luck.

Yes, i know. I'll be bringing in Rodwell next summer so I'm hoping to have a Rodwell, Wilshere, Bostock midfield. Jonny Evans and Ryan Shawcross have both played more games this season than both Vidic and Ferdinand and have played fantastically so they're coming to fruition as the future United CB's, next season should see them as the first picks

way to much for wilshire. that price is along the same lines as Gurocouff, Ribery and even Modric. Ok your trying bring in youth so I suppose your prepared to pay for it, I just think you won't get a return for the money.

Rio Ferdinand ruled out for upto 3 months

Community Shield
Chelsea 2 - 1 United Berbatov 15, Cassano 66, Lampard 74
A close game where we played alot of our younger players, we did reasonably well and are not too disheartened by this.

Manchester City 0 - 1 Manchester United Rooney 82
A staggering opening game. It was very close and was end to end but late on rooney converted a Giggs cross at the back post and provided a great moment for the fans.

Manchester United 4 -2 Aston Villa Carew 26, Rooney 50, 88, Valencia 52 Agbonlahor 66,
Owen 90+2
Another cracking game but a bit of a scare nonetheless, we really had to battle to get past them with Rooney again playing starring role.

Manchester United 2 - 0 Portstmouth Rooney pen 22, 78
A much easier game, we were in no danger.

Arsenal 1 - 1 Manchester United Rooney 56, Vermaelen 60
A truly disheartening game, we dominated throughout and when we took the lead through a well worked goal we thought we'd win it. However, they scored from a set piece and held us off. Good performance though.

West Ham 1 - 2 Manchester United Faubert 26, Rooney 77, Giggs 88
A wet night at Upton Park produced more magic. We fell behind from a Faubert F.K but a long range effort and a late winner from Giggs steals a vital win.

Champs Lge
Real Madrid 0 - 0 Manchester United
A good performance, we hit the woodwork twice and they rarely threatened. Ronaldo was non existent which was pleasing.

Manchester United 2 - 0 Manchester United Owen 27, Evans 64
Owen takes advantage of his rare start and Evans continues his remarkable start to the season.

Carling Cup 3rd Round
Manchester United 3 - 2 Southampton Jaidi 9, Owen pen 35, 49, Hammond 57, Carrick 66
A real scare, had to bring on some veterans at half-time and it worked as Michael Carrick smashed in a 30 yarded to help us squeeze past the saints.

Fulham 1 - 0 Manchester United Murphy pen 90+5
Astounding! We never really showed up but we thought we'd get a point out of it until Vidic gave them a very, very late penalty and Fulham earn a dramatic win.

Champs Lge
Manchester United 3 - 0 Olympiakos Rooney 60, Evans 73, Carrick 83
We had to be patient but in the end a good win.

Manchester United 2 - 1 Bolton Valencia 12, Cahill 15, Owen 33
With Rooney out and Berba underperforming it is good to see Owen popping up with goals. A tough home win.

Tottenham 1 - 2 Manchester United Berbatov 7, 19 Defoe 83
Berbatov comes good at White Hart Lane, two lovely solo goals from the Bulgarian killed the game and they were lucky to get one back.

Champs Lge
Manchester United 6 - 1 Unirea Berbatov 4, 11, 14 Rooney 32, 89 Turcu 43, Vidic 90
Great performance from everyone, their goal was a 40 yarder.

obviously too much for wilshere but if u really wanted him its about right considering the rivalry.. as for vidic DO NOT SELL!!!! lol sorry but that seriously required capital letters, in season 4 hes still averaging 7 to 7.5s

Liverpool 1 - 3 Manchester United Rooney 14, Berbatov pen 26, 36, Plessis 78
A good solid win against an in from Liverpool, Berbatov again playing some great stuff and Rooney can't seem to miss.

Carling Cup 4th Round
Middlesborough 1 - 2 Manchester United O'Neill 10, Fleck 42, Owen 70
Another scary game in this competition but Owen comes off the bench to rescue us.

Manchester United 3 - 2 Burnley Berbatov 12, 45, 77 Paterson 19, Blake 85
Poor defensively but Berbatov ran the show playing as a deep striker, every chance stemmed from him as well as the 3 goals.

Champs Lge
Unirea 0 - 2 Manchester United Shawcross 3, Evans 77
Two goals from our centre backs from set-pieces to grind out a win that sees us qualify for the next round.

Manchester United 5 - 0 Birmingham Rooney 4, 11, pen 50, Owen 20, 36
Berbatov is rested but clearly we didn't need the on form striker.

Manchester United 3 - 0 Sunderland Berbatov 1, 79, Vidic 20
Despite the scoreline it was a tough game, our goals were wonder strikes and a header from a set piece.

Champs Lge
Manchester United 1 - 0 Real Madrid Giggs 38
The Big One. The game that everyone was looking forward to is won by a Ryan Giggs free kick, we've now shut them and Ronaldo up twice. Big bonus.

Carling Cup QF
Everton 1 - 3 Manchester United Distin 28, Owen 68, 79, Macheda 90
We were outplayed until Owen broke away and scored, after that we got back into it and i was surprised we won it.

Manchester United 1 - 0 Blackburn Berbatov 89
A poor performance until the two subs, Owen and Berba combined late on. Owen's cross from the right volleyed home by the Bulgarian.

Manchester United 1 - 0 Arsenal Owen 82
Another magical win. It was a counter attacking game and looked likely to end 0 - 0 until Carrick played a ball over the top for Owen to slot home.

Aston Villa 0 -0 Manchester United
Pleased to come through the Christmas period unbeaten against a strong Villa team.

After the first half of the season I am very pleased with the performances and that we're still in all competitions. Despite our fantastic form, Chelsea are just a few points behind though.

anderson on loan ?? hes one of my best players in my first season lol

if your focussing on Brittish and Irish youth you shouldnt have bought 7 foreigners, shouldve got the likes of sturridge and mattock ect.

Nice start mate, but not sure why you've bought in the 7 or so foreigners given the concept behind your story? I know it's difficult to unearth young talent worthy of a team like United, do you aim to have an entirely British/Irish team at some point? oO)

Good luck buddy.

Wow i think you overpaid for wilshere

Ya think?!

Although Muniain is awesome on FM. Are you actually playing any of the youngsters? Because it's not like you sold anyone really.. So you could easily just play United's normal team :S

Yes, Fleck, Wilshere, Shawcross and Ramos are all playing often. They're rotation player and play against the lower premiership teams. Shawcross in particular plays reguarly and Jonny Evans (although not brought in) has played more games than anyone else in the squad. As well as this Macheda, Wellbeck and Munian have all had substitue appearances in the league and Champions league as well as starting a Carling cup game each. They seem to be progressing nicely and next year should see the aforementioned players becoming more than just rotation players.
