What the deuce?

Started a new Everton save, Jagielka said he wants to move to a bigger club, I told him I would qualify for Europa League this season and he said he'll be off if I don't.

Before I play my first match of the season, he requests a transfer due to my "failure to increase the club's standing in the game as promised".

I, of course, rejected his transfer request but now I have an unhappy captain fuming over nothing. Crazy stuff.

I had this with Bradford PA. I was in the Championship and my star player came to me asking to move to a bigger club. I told him we would get promoted, which we did.

Once we were in the Premier League he started saying I had lied to him and not fulfilled the promise, which is false because we were promoted.

So I bought the ingame editor and made him happy again and haven't touched it since. To me that was the only way to fix it.

This is what happens when they release a broken game! I think it's a known/common error.

I remember getting sacked at Blyth Spartans in FM08 - the board wanted me mid-table and I won the Blue Square North and got sacked at the end of the season because I didn't achieve their goals.
