unrealistic international matches

Is it me or are international matches utterly unrealistic? I mean...i play Holland and in qualification i had to reply a match to Austria (like #70 on the world ranking or so) 10 times to finally have a draw? And now in my next qualification Cyprus is 3-0 ahead...lmao. I use the same tactics i do with my club that won several champion leagues. Just unreal.

And about the saving the game on crucial moments, i know i should not, but wth....cyprus-holland 3-0 <) REMATCH :)

Edit: Oh, what i forgot to mention. They all play at top clubs, all have good morale, 100 percent health and so on. Nothing out the ordinary

There must be something wrong with your management ability or tactics- So you lost a few times to teams worse than yourself? Don't blame the game, look at everything with you and your team.
 
No it's not. I see countries like Switzerland beat Spain with 3-0 in semi finals. Like i said there is nothing wrong with the team itself or my managing style

And shocks happen?

At the end of the day, you need to prepare your team for anything that could be thrown at you. If you get beat, you can't go around blaming the game- If you can't take some losses, then you really shouldn't be playing Football Manager.

If you are losing these matches, there clearly is something with your team and managing style- Your tactics may need some tweaking, your squad may need improving?
 
Dude...i love this game. Like i said i replayed the Austria - Holland game 10 times to qualify for the European Cup. Its just unrealistic that in 10 games Holland should be happy with a draw. In the game Holland is nr 8 of the world and Austria like 70. So it's not based on 1 game. All i wanted is to discuss the fact it's less realistic than club games. There the better team wins 99 out of 100 games. Unlike international games.
 
Change your tactic man. Just because it worked for domestic leagues, internations is 100% different. Unless you have something like Mr Hough's, then you are set.

Ok last thing i whine about on this topic :P I changed tactics alot during those matches, all were full bars in match preparation. Never mind, i'll get over it, even though most games seem very unrealistic unlike club games :) Cheers
 
I think keeping players motivated and having good teamtalks is crucial here. The one of two main reasons for a shock result is that the favorite to win isn't motivated and simply think they are good enough to win. I did a game with Barca (it should be easy right) and because I didn't bother to much with teamtalks I kept drawing and losing to bottom-of-the-table clubs and my highest scoring games in the league were 6-0 at home and 4-0 away wins against Real Madrid and continentally the Champions league final which I won 5-0.

I wanted to close this so much. But in all honesty you must just be a terrible manager.
 
I'm sorry, but it's just the truth: you're a rubbish international manager.
 
And possible just bad generally as you replay matches, you may think it's just one or two here and there in the league but when you do it about five times you've kept moral up five times and caused a domino effect that meant you cause yourself to gain 20-30 points which would have caused success.... Inevitably your just.... bad :/

lol @ crisitism. If you look at the poll you see alot do it. Only the ones commenting in here not. Forget it, saying moral goes down any time you save a game. Makes no sense. Missed my point all together
 
No moral goes down when you lose important matches, winning brings it up. Good moral = good results. Bad morale = Shiteeeee. Basically I got your points, its just *****. BTW moralE, it has an e, use it.

People who cheat don't brag, there's the difference, you saying "I'm a brilliant manager blar blar blar" is useless if you cheat and you blaming the game when you cheat is also bad, don't replay games and you won't have to keep on losing the same game over and over again.
