Need some advice on the best way to unsettle players so they ask to move to get them a little cheaper

Move them into reserves team
Harsh chating
Offer mutual termination...

You will have to get them to have a row with their manager. Just say you are interested, and if they say they would love to join, make a low offer for them which will be rejected. The 9 times out of 10 they will argue with their manager and not sign a new contract. They you can get them cheap in the last year of their contract, or free if you are willing to wait until it expires

I never have any luck in unsettling players (well because I'm too impatient to wait until their contract run out) but I just play a new save recently out of sheer boredom and have a bid of 21M pounds for Depay rejected. He is angered of course. Next thing I knew he apparently had been fined by his manager for absence in training. I tried my luck and got a bit of 20M accepted. I should have lowered the bid a little to see whether they will accept or not.

I guess if they're just unhappy but doesn't actually make an effort to force themselves out of the club, you can't get them for lower price. Missing training is another matter apparently. It's a first for me, usually they're just unhappy.
