Nick Bryant is the new manager of League One side Exeter City having signed a two year contract worth £900. Bryant is a relative unknown having been plucked from obscurity to manage his boyhood team and will be hoping to reward the faith shown in him by the Supporters Trust and Board by steering the Grecians to a top half finish.

Despite one of the smallest budgets in the section, City boast a number of players capable of magic. The enigma Danny Nardiello will surely get goals if he can stay clear of the treatment table, whilst in the centre of midfield the trio of Dunne, Sercombe and Noble will be competing for two berths. The recent loan signings of Chris Hackett and Jake Taylor provide further options with great things expected of the pair.

At the back the Grecians look weakest, although Richard Duffy and new signings Danny Coles and Yassin Moutaouakil should provide a degree of protection for rookie 'keeper Artur Krysiak.

Update 15 September:
City have made an impressive start to the campaign with Tuesday's defeat at lowly Brentford only the second league defeat in the first seven games (the remaining five having been won). They head in to Saturday's local derby with Yeovil Town knowing a win could lift them into second behind surprise package Carlisle. A heavy 2-6 home defeat by Wolves took the gloss off an impressive 0-7 win at Dagenham in the first round of the League Cup.

New signings Bauza, Coles and Hackett have been particularly impressive while Nardiello has largely steering clear of injury firing 6 in his first 8 games in all competitions.
