Updating Downloaded FM...? Help/Input please

Hello everyone.

Just to set the scene. I have LEGALLY downloaded FM11 from the Game online website but it looks to be in the first database version. I was wondering if anybody has any experience of downloading FM like this and can say firstly if it's possible to update the edition I've purchased as you would with a disc copy.

I've read around and people seem to be saying that when they do this, FM asks them to "insert disc". I'm assuming that's because their downloaded copy isn't legitimate.

Game were pretty much useless at answering this question so I'm hoping someone here can help me out massively. Thanks.

Many thanks! Sorry again for probably being simple minded but what do or where do I put the update when I download it? Thanks for your help!

Download it to your desktop, it should be a '.exe' file, meaning all you need to do is double click it and it will self install.

If it's not a '.exe' file and/or double clicking doesnt seem to do anything, try downloading it using a different browser.
