Using Player Attributes

My first post! I'm an OK FM15 player - I've won every game I tried to, with Barcelona (up to mid-December). Better FM players seem to look more at player attributes than assistants' stars. Are there any "tutorials" on this (e.g. a video showing a player and explaining why they disagreed with the assistants' report?)
