i signed Jiri Jeslinek for my RB Leipzig team in the German 4th division (regionalliga nord). I'm first in the league w/ my munchkin team of Soukouna (ST), Mahoto (CM), and Pecorari (CB) and the players I started with were already very good for the division. I just finished the Jan window and Jeslinek was available for really cheap so I figured I'd take a punt on his ridiculous 18 speed and 15 technique. Finishing is 13 or so dribbling 14, great for the division I'm in. Unfortunately, those are pretty much the only attributes he has going for him. His composure is 3!!! This guy is like febian brandyx1000. I have set his training focus to composure in the hopes it might eventually get near 10... Any ideas on PPMs or something to offset the composure issue? I heard somewhere that shoots with power can help strikers with poor composure but i believe that ppm is affected by strength and balance (both 5 for Jiri). Can I make him a goalscorer or do I give up and convert him to a pacy AML (accomplished already, crossing 10)? Thanks!

1) he will never get to 10 mate, you don't have adequate training facilities and coaches, just keep him fit
2) shoots with power does not only incorporate the strength attribute, this would be ideal
3) with his dribbling stat you can ask him to go around the keeper and place shots in the net, this will make up for the low composure, yes he may miss a few though
4) I would rather train him to an Aml mate, sounds similar to this guy who is a great Winger when retrained!

So i should give up on the training focus for composure b/c it won't really go up anyway? And of the two approaches you suggested (shoots w/ power vs rounds keeper + place shots), which would you think would be more effective? And I will def be sticking him out on the left! I play a counter attacking longball tactic b/c the speed I have up front with Soukouna and Jeslinek is unreal. Defenders can't keep up and I collected a few higher division scalps in friendlies during winter break (1-0 over Schalke). I'm eying Odonkor or equivalent right side speed merchant for when I get promoted :) ty for responding so quickly!

if you are going to use him out wide, teach him to run with ball often, knock balls past opponents and place shots in corner when he cuts inside (instead of teaching him the PPM just set his wide movement into cut inside if you want him to do that or hug touchline if you want him to be a good old fashioned winger)

Player Preferred Move :)

you can ask them to learn certain moves through the interaction button :)

I'm afraid you don't have that many option buddy. Some PPM's like "Shoot with power" might do a bit for you but be prepared to see him waste many clear cut chances by blasting the ball outside the stadium. Truth is, whatever new PPM you try to teach him, it will help you in some way but will cause you upsets in some other way. It would probably be best if you tried to get a new striker and train this guy as a AML, as it seems he will do a great job for you in that position. Cheers ;)

Jiri has responded well to his change in position and has gotten match ratings above 7 in his past 4 matches playing AML. He is learning to knock the ball past opponent right now.

I would have made him a target man upfront set to 'run on to ball'. thats how i got Febian Brandy to be amazing for me in League 1!

Some players are scoring machines with low composure. E.G Danny Ings of AFCB scored 39 in season 1 with a composure of 4. I taught him to place shots and avoid using weaker foot.
