wage budgets on fm14

is it me or have they changed how the wage budgets work thus making it a lot harder? I seem to get the bare minimum wage budget, also when negotiating new contracts with players I give lower wages with longer contracts but my wage budget goes down anyone know why this is? this is brilliant in my eyes as it has give it more realism

I think bonuses and appearance fees are included in it. I could be wrong mate.
