Wage control - can it kill your form?

Alrite everyone, I'm Bradford, currently in the Championship in my fourth season in charge, took em over after they got relegated to League 2. Had back to back promotions then lost in the play-offs last year (I was grateful in a way, we weren't ready haha. Would have been a Billy Davies Derby turnout). Now we've gone to pot. I regularly switch tactics, which was killing it last season, I use a 4 1dm 2bbm 2wingers 1af at home, and a 451 flat away, both recommended on here and both very successful on other saves and in the past on this one. What's happened?
The only thing I think it could be is I'm twenty thousand over my wage budget. Does this kill form? Is it a way for the game to punish you when you're too secure to get sacked just for that? I'm predicted 13th, currently just above the zone, won only one game in eight. Usually a top half prediction means a definite promotion challenge, especially with these tactics, buts it's just not happening for me.
Can anyone help?!

I don't really understand your question?
But your tactics and the wage-ceiling's, only consequences is that you will be put under transfer-ban, if you don't live up to it (I think there a special rules for relegated teams, though)....

The question is whether the game engine contains a control, that if you drastically fail to look after wages (I'm ?20,000 over budget), means it will punish you by making your form drop. Does exceeding your wage budget lead to poor performances? Also, has anyone ever been sacked in a save, only to continue in it, gotten a new job and then gone on to be a success? Or is the save almost "tainted" after a sacking? Are you doomed to being a bad manager throughout the entire save after one bad job?

No to the first question. The game strives to be realistic, and the club entering administration, or a low end of season bonus, or players being transfer listed would be a realistic loss of form. Knowing that the club is a small amount over wage budget causing a massive drop in form is unrealistic.

As for the second one, yes. But not very often, and is usually the purpose of continuing challenges (i.e. they've gotten sacked from Hearts in Scotland for getting relegated) and they've continued on to manage Rangers and win at the game.

I've been sacked by about 3 clubs in the BS N/S before finding one that suits me and getting them back to back promotions to League 2 so you're not doomed.

Your club does sound like last year you were overachieving which might have an effect on your goals for this year meaning your squad isn't quite up to scratch. I've got the same problem in the belgian leagues, after back to back promotions to the top flight my side is nowhere near ready but we're fighting for survival knowing full well we don't have the players or budget to compete having only turned professional thanks to promoting.
