Long time reader of various stories, I read one from the FM14 forums about trying to improve the Scottish game which I found extremely interesting so I thought I would try the same. The country I have chosen to do this with is Wales. I have taken control of the national team and have chosen Port Talbot to be my starting domestic team.

My goals for this save:
Make Port Talbot the dominant force in Wales
Get Port Talbot into the knockout stages of the Champions League
Take the Wales team as high as possible

Thanks Mundo, unfortunately he had a few injuries in the next season but he managed to impress when he was fit.

Seems that Port Talbot is not the most popular place to be, managed to poach a few players from rival clubs on free transfers though.

Champions League came and went in the pre-season, we almost managed to throw away our great from round 1 leg 1. We then proceeded to be hammered in the 2nd round by Lech, the rest of our pre-season was rather patchy and then we had a shaky 1-1 draw to start the season.

Well enjoy Jonnyharb, glad I could end ****** TNS's Championship run!

An interesting thread. I'm a Swansea lad and fan though this time around I started unemployed and wound up with Stockport in conference north. After a couple of promotions and a good debut season in league two I moved to fellow league two club Newport who had just been relegated from league one. (the lure of managing a Welsh club too strong I guess!) I had noticed that tns had made some unrealistic signings such as Simon church, Lewis price, Sam ricketts etc. Did you find that at all?

In the last few FM's I have always picked a conference north/south team and tried to take them to the Premier League so this time round I thought I would try something a bit different. How is your Newport team going? They should be competitive if they have just come down a league. Yeah I have found that about TNS, no matter how much I improve my team they still challenge me right to the end! In my save they currently have Sam Ricketts and they did have Jason Koumas before he retired.

After losing 1-2 at home, we managed to get through to the next round thanks to a Garry Blackmore double.

We went ahead early before Sparta Prague took control of the match, a late goal gives us a glimmer of hope

Sparta Prague again dominated but somehow we managed to keep a clean sheet and score 2 goals!

We had to come from behind twice but we managed to get a very important 3-3 draw away from home

A match where we were dominated for long periods, but that was forgotten when Ryan Fraughan put us ahead in the 73rd minute. A late goal from Bate made for a nervy ending before Richard Holmes sealed our progression to the group stages of the Champions League!

This brilliant mate. just wish welsh football would come to this irl
