So, I want to create the team that Mourinho would use at Spurs basically- Breaking up the game, impossible to beat but will only win 1-0, 2-1 etc, not beautiful football here my friends, it's so overrated!

I find my 4-3-2-1 too narrow, but not sure how VdV fares out wide as an inside forward, and my right flank may get exposed with Walker bombing down the right too. How would i get my CMR to cover the right flank in this scenario?

I also want to play Bale as an inside forward, so am having to shoehorn him into unfamiliar territory(more centrally) My mid 3 is Hudd/Sandro/Modric. Cheers for any tips

Well in my Tottenham game I played a 4411 for most of the season.

LM Bale
CM Modric - Adv. Playmaker, Support
CM Huddlestone - Deep Lying Playmaker, Defend
RM Gervinho/Kuyt (Should have kept Lennon!)
AMC van Der Vaart - Attacking Mid, Support (Long shots on OFTEN)
ST G. Rossi - Poacher

Won me the Champions League first season.

Not sure a three man midfield would work with Tottenham considering you have one of the best LM's in the game, Bale, obviously. If I were you I'd play the 4411 it suits your best players perfectly (Bale, Modric, VDV)! Vukcevic is good back up for VDV too.

I played a narrow 4-4-1-1 for a season with Spurs, pretty much the same setup as Aannddyy mentioned, won the league by 11 points.
