Hello and welcome to this, my first story on FM14, I had a successful-ish story with Liverpool last year, so this year I'll try and replicate what I did there with Everton but this time I'll be on FM Classic

HAWKINS REPLACES MOYES

Today Everton chairman Bill Kenwright announced that unknown Welsh manager Matthew Hawkins would replacing David Moyes as manager of Everton FC.

David Moyes, who left for Manchester United, built Everton as a club, spending 10 years there but not winning one trophy.

However, Moyes did a brilliant job at Everton, which led to Sir Alex Ferguson asking the United board to make Moyes his successor.

Hawkins is said to be delighted that he has been chosen to take Everton forward, he has been given an ?8m war chest and is told he must finish in the top half.​

EVERTON CHASE TELLO

FC Barcelona have announced that two clubs have matched exciting winger Christian Tello's release clause and have offered the Spanish-U21 international contracts.

Sources close to the winger have told journalists that one is Premier League side Everton and the other is an unknown French club.

Everton, however, have already made one signing this summer, midfielder Mohamed Diame from West Ham for ?3.5m, the ball-winning midfielder has signed a four-year contract, rejecting an offer from Merseyside rivals Liverpool in the process.​
