Arsene Wenger will face disciplinary action for communicating with Arsenal's bench while serving a touchline ban, Uefa confirms.

He deserved it, but didn't Ferguson do the same thing when he was banned?

"They told us first that, through my assistant, he can communicate. And after half-time, it was not like that."

Ridiculous from UEFA. Managers do it all the time, and he didn't even communicate directly with the bench, only through Boro Primorac.

Doesn't matter who he contacts the bench through, a touch line ban means he can't communicate with the bench what so ever. Kinda feel sorry for him though because I'm sure every other manager who has served a touchline ban has done the same.

The point is that he was clearly told pre-game that he was allowed to contact the bench via Boro Primorac but at half-time, UEFA changed their minds because Sky were being little snitching ***** and filming him every time he passed on instructions rather than actually filming the game.

And as you say - every manager does it. Mourinho did it last season when he sat behind the bench and physically, blatantly, passed notes directly to his assistant.

They blatantly screwed up here. they didn't clarify the situation properly, and he's paid the price. With Arsene on this one. If they're going to ban a manager, just ban them from the stadium to stop a situation like this happening again. Make more sense surely.

UEFA being ***** again, Arsenal even clarified the situaion with UEFA before the game but again UEFA dont want their reputation battered more so they ask him to stop at half-time which he does

So..., another game suspension huh UEFA. ******* tools!!!! screw u !!!

The referee who sent RVP off at the Camp Nou last year is now the most senior referee in world football having been appointed by FIFA/UEFA as the head referee a couple of months ago...

It's like UEFA deliberately go out to mess/screw with with Arsenal.

If he was told he wasn't allowed to communicate directly with the bench... key word there being 'directly', as there was no direct contact between Wenger and the bench, all communication was made through a third party (whoever the coach was). But if Arsenal are wrong in saying that Wenger was allowed to go through his coach, and UEFA said he 'wasn't allowed to communicate with his team', then UEFA need to have a good look at their rules, as they need clarifying.
