Slaven Bilic appointed as new manager of West Ham United as Big Sam departs.

With Slaven Bilic taking the reigns at Upton Park I have set up a five year plan for West Ham to take them to the next level as they move into the 54,000 capacity Olympic Stadium in Stratford on 1st July 2016.

The ambition here is for West Ham to grow into a club worthy of gracing one of the best modern football stadiums in Europe and compete with the big clubs in the top 4 of the Premier League. This will take a lot of work and vast finances which will hopefully be gained from extra revenue brought in with the sale of Upton Park and big sponsorship deals that you'd expect with a world class stadium. As well as this I will be heavily relying upon youth investment and development to make this a reality.

The 5 Year Plan:

Year One - 2014/15:

In the first year of the project I'd like to achieve a top 8 finish in the Premier League as well as going on a run in the two domestic cup competitions. This will provide the club with some stability in order to push on into the following seasons.

In terms of signings I don't expect much as the finances simply aren't available to be splashing the cash however there could be some hot prospects brought into the club.

Year Two - 2015/16:

The second season will be an opportunity for the club to step up and look to finish in the top 6 and aim to qualify for the Europa League either through league position or through the cup competitions. However the most important thing is retaining top flight status as the pending move to the Olympic Stadium is a year away at this stage.

I hope to have cleared the dead wood before the beginning of this season and will be looking to involve youth prospects more regularly if they're ready.

Year Three - 2016/17:

This season will be a very exciting one for everyone involved at the club as we move into the new UEFA Category 4 54,000 seater Stadium. At this point I hope to have a solid squad with a mix of youthfulness and experience by strategically procuring young wonderkids and established high profile players.

At this stage I will definitely be looking into improving the clubs facilities to a state of the art level so that they match our ambitions with the new stadium.

In this season I expect West Ham to be in the Europa League and achieve a top 5 finish as well as look to go as far as possible in the FA cup by stretching the squad to its limit.

If in the Europa League, I'd like to at least reach the semi final but would be delighted if we could win the competition and automatically qualify for CL football the following season.

Year Four - 2017/18:

In the fourth season I want an established squad with no players aged 30 or over as I look to build a force of academy products and hot prospect imports from abroad. I expect the club to have some of the best players in the league that are comfortable with competing in the Champions League.

In this season I want to achieve a minimum top 3 finish but optimistically would like to win the PL title and one of the other main competitions (CL or FA Cup).

Year Five - 2018/19:

In the final year of my five year plan I expect a minimum of a title challenge and appearances in the FA Cup and CL final but aim to win the Premier League as well as the Champions League and FA Cup.

Beyond the 5th year I believe we should be aiming to dominate Europe as one of the biggest clubs in the world. Whether I will go past the 5th year will depend on how much I'm enjoying the save but I feel like there's a lot of potential with this club.

West Ham play at the Boleyn Ground, commonly referred to as Upton Park which holds 35,016 spectators and is located within East London surrounded by flats and terraced housing on Green Street.

West Hams training ground, Chadwell Heath has played a key part in the production of some of the Premier League's biggest football stars over the past 15 years. However the facilities are becoming increasingly outdated over time and must be improved to keep up with the likes of the other London based teams that have state of the art facilities.

Be interesting to see how you do, i been thinking about a WHU game before FM 16 so this may persuade me to try it!

The pictures I've attached to my posts so far haven't uploaded in their full size...if anyone could kindly help me with that I'd really appreciate it :)

Yeah I'd definitely recommend it, although I am a West Ham fan so I'm a bit biased! I've used the winter update from lfcmarshall which includes two wonderkids in 16 year old Reece Oxford and 17 year old Oscar Borg so it should be a fun save.

Once you've uploaded the image, double-click on it and you'll be given options to size it; thumbnail, medium, large, full-size.
That should fix your issue :)

I feel like you should be more ambitious with your sporting aims. IMO all that can be accomplished in three years with west ham, rather than the five mentioned.

After looking back at the five year plan I agree. I have changed the targets to be a bit more ambitious whilst still keeping it as realistic as I can for a club of West Hams stature :)

Good luck with West Ham my firend ! I am in year 2023 now in my game and I am begginnig my second year in the team. Managed to finish 3rd in the Premier League and I hope to go even better this year. As mentioned above Reece Oxford is a quality. Hold on to him and try to develop him as much as you can. I can post you a screenshot of him to see for yourself. The man is a beast !!

Nice to see you like my style? I think it's a mix of mine and Brendn's anyway?? Looking forward

West Ham Player Watch

Up and coming youngsters to look out for:

Reece Oxford

View attachment 243759

Reece Oxford has been labelled as one of the best young centre backs to come out of the West Ham academy since Rio Ferdinand and has been compared to the former academy graduate. Although not quite ready for first team football in the top flight just yet, Oxford has a bright future ahead of him at Upton Park.

In the summer of 2014 there had been major interest from high profile clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to sign him from West Ham but he put pen to paper on a long term deal to end speculation.

Oscar Borg

View attachment 243771

Oscar Borg is a wide player who is comfortable with playing anywhere across the left flank due to his pace, dribbling and crossing ability. It is likely that left wing will be his main position due to his attacking attributes being better than his defensive ones.

Borg has been likened to Gareth Bale due to their similar playing style and position on the field. He spent a period on trial at Manchester United however a deal couldn't be reached for a compensation package to clinch him from West Ham's grasp.

He is by no means the finished article yet and may need another season as part of the development squad and a potential loan move before stepping up to the first team.

Diego Poyet

View attachment 243772

Son of former Premier League player and manager Gus Poyet, Diego has a huge expectation to live up to. Poyet is a defensive midfielder who is also capable of playing in centre mid with the potential to become a key cog in the West Ham midfield for years to come.

Key first team players for the 14/15 season:

Alex Song

View attachment 243770

Alex Song has joined West Ham on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona as he wasn't deemed part of their plans for the upcoming season. When asked why he chose West Ham over Champions League football elsewhere in Europe Song stated that he wanted to live in London and had unfinished business in the Premier League.

Alex Song will be a key player and a big influence for West Ham and will add some much needed experience and steel in the midfield area.

Enner Valencia

View attachment 243767

Enner Valencia recently joined West Ham for a £12m fee on a 5 year deal after having an excellent World Cup scoring 3 goals for Ecuador.

Enner Valencia will be West Ham's key striker this season due to his ability to score from distance as well as possessing a great leap and aerial skills. Keeping him fit will be key for the Hammers success this season.

Winston Reid

View attachment 243766

Winston Reid has been the standout defender for West Ham in the past few seasons due to his combatant style of play in the heart of defence.

Reid has been the subject of intense speculation about his future after being linked to the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal as well as others but decided to commit his long term future to West Ham with a 6 year contract that will see him through to the Olympic Stadium move in 2016 and beyond.

Will we be waiting for update soon ? West Ham is a realy interesting project and I am very curious to see the team 's progress during this save !

I quite like West Ham so will be following this, a team with a lot of potential! I'm a massive fan of Aaron Cresswell too - future England international!
