What approach would you take

seeing as the new patch is out im gonna give Bristol City a proper crack. but i cant decide what approach i should take. the minimum aim is to achieve a top half finish in championship. transfer budget of 500k and a wage budget of 145k which is just below league average of 148k.

now this is where im struggling to see where to go. the squad is on the large side and theres little income due to a small stadium, so when you see David James racking up 20k a week plus 10k cleansheet bonus and Brett Pittman earning 10k its easy to see that money is flying out the club.

would you stage a massive clear out and rebuild the squad with a lower wage budget and develop over afew seasons or would you try and use all your resources to get to the prem with a squad that would need alot of improving to survive the 1st season in the promise land??

Aim as high as possible first season = Get Promoted.
Not enough money to stay in Premiership = Parachute Payments.
Parachute Payments = Money.

I say go for promotion.

Massive clear out all players with big wages get in a few loans like Boyata and Scynesny(dunno how to spell it) get a few mediocre players in on free transfer that dont want huge wages and have a look what you've got as far as youth academy goes

Go for promotion and don't bother with the money, change it all to wage budget and get all the decent free transfers in and max out your long term loan limit, promotion is achieveable in the first season with any championship side, it's how you handle the season after thats problematic, but you should have enough cash by then to sort that out too.

just noticed James and Pitman cant be sold in first season due to being recent arrival =[ probably better going for promotion then, can still have a mini clear out and bring in one or two decent players i suppose
