What are Patches?

Sorry for sounding stupid but I'm relatively new to the Football Manager experience and I have been seeing this word ''patch''being thrown around this forum.

What is it? What does it do? Is it some kind of update? Do you implement it into the game If Yes, How?

Basically, a patch for any piece of software fixes bugs. But in FM's case, they will also update the database (transfers ect.).

If you have installed the game standalone via disk (ie the old fashioned way ) then you can download the most recent patch (11.3) here. Otherwise, if you installed via Steam, then it will have been done automatically.

Yes they are indeed updates.
They fix bugs and the latest includes all official transfers across the world from January.
