Hi All, i'm after a bit of advice from people more knowledgable about the game than me.

Started the game unemployed and got hired by York city. Got them up to League 1 over the course of 4 seasons and won the FA Trophy (good times). The problems have started since then.

Spent 3 seasons in league one finishing mid table,. above expectation. At the start of every season the board massively reduces my wage bill so even saying i will win the league its miles less than it use to be (expectation is to narrowly avoid relegation). Over the last 2 seasons the board has taken the wage bill from 43k pw to 22k pw, meaning i have lost the majority of my best players and can't sign any replacements.

They flat out refuse to up the wage bill so now we are in 2017 and i have had enough!

So, i start applying for jobs in championship and prem. Noone is interested!!! Robbie Keane, Jermaine Jenas and Even Rio Ferdinand got jobs i applied for with no previous managerial experience!! Only people offering me jobs are L2, and ill be dead before i go back there!. I have a 49% win ratio and a national rep so not too bad. Won 1 League, 1 Trophy and 1 Manager of the year award.

I just want to progress but the game wont let me and the 7 years i have spent with york is now seeming a life sentence!!!!!

HELP!!!!!

Go back to league 2, win promotion again and watch the job offers come storming in. Multiple league trophy wins attract offers from bigger clubs.

Not league 2.......................Anything but league 2!!!! maybe if i found a less scrooge like club i would be ok. It's just because i built up so much talent to watch them all go hurts!!

Resign. and wait for good job offers. Constantly applying for jobs makes you look desperate.

I agree with Jake, go down to league 2, maybe with a team recently relegated from league 1, get them back up and continue from there.

Hopefully you can get a job at higher league team. And like Yasser just said the more jobs you apply for the more desperate you look and the less loyal you seem even after the 7 or so years spent at york

Go to to "add manager" in the options screen and add manager to man utd or barcelona , transfer your name to the new add manager account and retire the old account, should work

Is there no jobs available for foreign countries? they might work if you do that :P If not...you'll have to either go with L2 team or wait for jobs which you can do holiday? Go on holiday while applying for jobs until you get one :P

Cheers guys, I think I'm going to give York until Jan and if it doesn't look like we are going up I'm jumping ship. Just annoying how ex pros seem to get all the jobs!!

Update!!

I'm in April now and the mighty York city are 3rd with 4 to play. Looks promising. Millwall have just offered me a job with a £3m transfer budget and 100k wage budget (compared to my £0 and 24k wage bill). Millwall are 13th and won't go up this season but look better long term. I don't know whether to see it through with York now or jump ship. At least things are moving along now!!

I think you should hang onto York and see what happens next season :). If things aren't going quite well, you can always go to Millwall :)

Update 2: york lost in the playoff so I jumped ship to sunny millwall. When I got there about 8 players were unhappy with me and morale was shot. None of them would even talk to me as our relationship had broken down (hello, I have been there 1 day!!!). Anyway mustering through but we are having a mare and are currently 13th :(

I think my start unemployed play through maybe coming to an end. Shame as I was certain I could make it to the prem but it's dragging on and my game time is now 4 days so not sure can bear to put more hours in. Cheers for all the advice though!!
