I'm starting to get a bit bored with the Premier League and now I'm thinking of managing a team in Germany (not Bayern or Dortmund) but I wanted to get some opinions about the league as a whole.

Have you had success in the league?
How does the prize money/TV revenue compare to the Premier League?
Which clubs have the best youth systems?
Which clubs would you manage other than the big two?

No, haven't played in the Bundeliga this game.
Prize Money/TV if like in real life, not even close, however bigger stadia and attendances help cacel that out.
Youth Systems, Dortmund, Bayern, Schalke, Monchegladbach, HSV, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg.
If I had to pick outside of the top two, Dortmund, and Bayern, then I personally would pick Schalke. Great Youth players already, and a mix of youth and experience.

I did a few seasons with Stuttgart. Finished 3rd, 1st and 1st before I stopped. They have a good youth setup and the board will spend more to upgrade it all the way. I enjoyed it. Most teams play different tactics than you see in the Prem League which was refreshing.

I am a bit of a germo-phile (if thats a word), and I have always had a go on it every season.
My greatest success was finishing 5th on last year's game with SC Preu?en M?nster in the Bundesliga with a team where 50% came from my youth academy.
The prize money is decent, though TV revenue is not comparable to the premier league. Big attendances but cheap tickets means that only Bayern can really compete globally for the biggest names in the world..
The best youth systems come from Nord-Rhine Westphalia (i.e. Borussia Dortmund, M?nchengladbach, FC Schalke 04) and of course FC Bayern.
Not sure you could necessarily compare Dortmund to Bayern and legitimately say they are part of a "Big Two" because Dortmund's success is a very recent event which looks to be potentially petering out. In terms of the size of the club, its reputation and it's financial muscle, Dortmund and Bayern are not even close, as evidenced by their capture of Lewandowski and Mario G?tze. Clubs on the rise would be FC Schalke who have a wonderful academy and superb support, Bayer Leverkusen, whose support is weak but they are backed by the major financial power of the Bayer chemical company, and VfL Wolfsburg whose money comes from the Volkswagen company based there.
Other fun teams to manage would be Hertha Berlin who have huge potential seeing as they are based in the capital of the country and also maybe someone like 1. FSV Mainz 05 who always seem to punch above their weight.

Have fun :)

Yeah, the idea of building from the youth academy definitely appeals to me and I like that all clubs seem to be financially secure.
I think I've narrowed down my list to Gladbach or HSV. Do you have any idea as to which of these teams is backed better financially? The Gladbach squad in particular looks very good coupled with low wages.

Currently playing as Schalke - very good squad, money to improve it, players to sell. But Bayern are proving impossible to compete with. In April only 2 losses and not many draws yet in 2nd and 11 points off them. The fact that Im 11 points ahead of Dortmund in 3rd speaks volumes about what it takes to compete with them.

HSV will have better financial backing

The good thing about the german league is definitely the attendance. Its very high no matter what club u choose to manage, which will keep giving u some money. U could take a team like 1860 Munchen and is a bit of a sleeping giant in the second league

Great league: rich, full of promising talents and popular. Thanks to this, glory is at disposal of many teams if they manage to beat Bayern (not easy though). Nevertheless, the competitive factor would never end since Bayern (and possibly even BvB and FCS04) will always try to improve.
