So I've been playing as City for three seasons now, and sometimes I just go on holiday for a couple of days to skip the boring matches against **** teams and such. My ***. manager is Terry McDermott, and I always make sure that both "use current match tactics" and "use current team selection when possible" is selected. However, he still changes the line up no matter what I do. I use a pretty standard 4-3-3 formation, with either Aguero or Dzeko on top. Now, for most of these matches I've put Aguero in the starting eleven and then Dzeko on the bench, mainly because I am aiming towards making Aguero my top scorer. The problem is that my assistant manager chooses Dzeko all the freaking time. I can put him as a sub, out of the squad, in the reserves, whatever I do my assistant manager always finds him and replaces Aguero. It is incredibly annoying because most of the time these are really easy matches where I win 3/4/5 - 0, and it would have been ideal for Aguero to rack up a few goals in those games.

I know of course that I can just play them myself, and that's what I have done lately, but it's just really annoying to set up a really good team, go on holiday, and when I come back my douchebag assistant manager has replaced my top striker despite my explicit instruction not to do so.

it happens bud, best way would be to put Dzeko on a really high physical training regime and wait for him to get injured :P

or you could just play the game yourself, commentary and the quickest does not take that long...

My Assistant keeps putting hard tackling on ever player bar the goalkeeper so have started doing my own OI

It may depend on many factors. This may include poor fitness, poor morale.. or things like that.
