Basically I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread where everybody can give their account of what a team needs to do in a football match.
For me it's very simple.
1st With the ball: The most important thing a good team has to have on the ball for me is, composure, the poise to build up play patiently and strike an attack confidently and precisely when you find a weakness in your oppositions armour.
2nd Without the ball: Harass the opponent from high up the pitch, there is no point in closing down when the opponents defense is up to the half way line. At this stage your opponent has 3 quarters of the pitch to play with. When pressing, do so, quickly with numbers and composure in the tackle.
Those 2 points some up for me 99% of what a team has to do in a football match.
