what to do??

Been managing Salernitana for the past 2 years, in those 2 years we won the Serie C1 and with a lot of luck we won the Serie B the year after. Brought in some 10 new players to make the team good enough to survive in the Serie A. We had a somewhat promising preseason and so I became pretty confident that we would have an exciting season ahead of us. Now some 6 or 7 games into the season that confidence has vanished. We have taken 5 points (with quite a bit of luck) so far, lost 3 games in a row now and the next 4 or 5 games are against the elite of Italian football….meaning we might go on a 7-8 game losing streak.

I love the club and would like to succeed in Serie A but I’m not sure how a 7-8 game losing streak will affect me.

Should I continue with Salernitana or maybe start a new game?

stick it out mate, of course you are not going to dominate the Serie A like you did the lower leagues, you need to accept that when you get promoted to the top tier of your respected league structure... its realistic, you might ****** a 1:0 win against Inter or something and thats what it is all about, the joy and excitement of pulling of a momentus victory, no doubt you will most probably lose, but take it on the chin and be a man and deal with it! it comes with the territory...

just try your best, change your tactics to play a lot more defensively, you need to do that!

Our goal for this season is to finish 14th or 15th, so I didn't expect things to be easy this year. However after some good games in pre-season I expected to have at least 10 points by now. Most of our games so far this season were against teams that we should beat but we failed to do so.

It actually might be a good thing that we play against the elite of Italian footie in the next few games (eventhough we might have a long losing streak), then we have that behind us and can move on.

Gonna change my tactics again and see if that will work
 
I think i have a same problem. ive took bath city from blue square all the way to league 1. spend a lot on new players had a amazing pre-season but now ive found my team it get beaten nearly every game now!
maybe a change of of tactics or a good slap around the back of the head stupid players!!!
 
In the previous two seasons we outplayed big teams like Milan (didn't result in wins though) with a crappy squad. Now in pre season with quite a good team we did very well against Valencia, 3-3 after we went down 0-2. Dominated from start to finish against Portuguese Premier League outfit Belenenses.

And now in the league nothing seems to go right (players overconfident???)

Yeah sometimes players can get overconfident, if so just in games when they are overconfident...say you expect them to win the match. If they start to perform badly then warn them about their performances (e.g rating is below 6). If by then they are still performing bad. give them a one week ban. If it still carries on! Then you defin have to sell him or loan him out and get someone else in or put them in reserves because they clearly aren't doing good.

Also DON'T CHANGE your tactic that was good last seasons...all you have to do is tweak them. If you change the tactic too much your player won't get used to it and will need time to blend in with it yet again.

Remember, loses always happen and if they do, then find the weak point. Maybe you need to bring in fresh players in, if your first team is getting tired playing every time. What i do is rotation, i decide the team by condition. Although i do that, i always put a few key players into the squad as i don't want the team to be too weak. Just move on and keep going through the season and you'll do fine :)

bath city :) <3 you've done verywell to get them there! highest i got them was championship took 9 seasons..
 
Stuck with Salernitana for a few more games, tweaked my tactics a bit and even tried some new tactics, but we still went onto a 7 game losing streak as I expected. Have to say that we played better footie and were just unlucky a few times (some red cards and some late goals). After that 7th game (away against Palermo) I got approached by Palermo. They had sacked Delio Rossi after a bad start to the season, a 14th place. They offered me 21k a week more and a transfer budget of 30 million euros, and seeing that they have an amazing squad I just couldn’t say no.

Have now played some 5 or 6 games with Palermo and worst result was 0-0 away against AS Roma. Beat and outplayed league leaders Genoa and the same happened with 4th placed Milan. We have now climbed to 8th place and we have a game in hand. We’re “only” 10 points behind Genoa and so if we continue this run we will have a chance of winning the Scudetto this year
