whats going on

hi all

is anyone having any trouble winning and keeping the players happy.

i am man u and i am wining some games but mid table and now my players are saying that they have no confidence in me. its not the first time this has happened i started with Bayern Munich and could not win at all then started again with AC Milan and the same thing there, i must say i am doing better with man u but still not as good as i have on the past games.

there are some factors that i think i causing this....
1) i buy a lot of players as soon as i become manager and will that cause a very slow start of the season.
2) my formation i have always played 4222.

please could some one give me some advise on the game as its beginning to do my head in and im going to stop playing soon

tactics son...thats all you need...i am in game 13 with man utd and never lost or drew in all competitions...i did reload once tho when i lost lol but it was a rival team so had to

try 4-4-2 and play macheda sometimes...i played him for 4 games and he scored 3 goals...download some training schedules from this site and use them to improve players...i did and my players are beasting...i also downloaded a few tactics from here and they doing great for me...

That's the worst advice ever. Reloading is cheating.

You've said what needs doing yourself, though maybe it has something to do with your team talks and how you handle your players outside games? What's your reputation set as?

Well, if some of your players had bad game, go to private chat>last game and tell them that, it boosts moral a bit

I would say these:

- Don't buy too many new players. You don't need one "crack" at every position, it's enough with one in each line, maybe two for the central with one MC and one winger. Make your team around those.

- See if among the replacement players that you would have to be use regularly is one who is unacceptably low quality, bring one decent to take his place. Replacements are not necessarily 11 other players, but it's enough 1GK, 1FB, 1DC, 1MC, 1W, 1ST.

(I would expect Manchester United fulfills the two points from start, with ample margin to go)

- Once the two or three signings from previous two points have settled into your team, begin to work, slowly, never more than three signings, and preferably not two in the same area, begin to work, I said, in identifying the weaker points of your team and strengthening them to icnrease their quality.

- Look at your players and think, upon their natural positions first and attributes later what is the best formation for them and what is the best for the kind of play you want to develop. Make that formation. Watch fullmatches to spot the problems, where they press less than you feel right, where they press to much, when or who makes bad passes too quick, runs too high or not enough high, keeps the ball too long and with that touch that tactic to improve it. But once you've picked the tactic, try not to change it as soon a bad result comes.

- It would be good also to have players that allow you to change formation in mid of the match for special situations, so you may not just change from your standard formation to different offensive/defensive flavours of it, but completelly altogether formations if you feel it's needed. You may want to go extra defensiva and move from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-1-4-1, or maybe you're behind and you feel the rival would show the weaknesses your formation hasn't found with a narrow one and change to a 4-1-2-1-2...
