I get fed up of trying to sign a player whose worth about £5m and then having to spend £25m to get my man. Anyone paid well over the valuation price?

Paid 45m for Hulk from Porto, I think hes 5-15m at the start f the game

I asked my boardroom to sign Neuer for me and they ended up paying 42m for him.

€100m on Pato. Worth around €23m at the time.

I don't pay over 12 for anyone worth 5.

I was looking into buying Pastore. I think he was valued at about £8m at the time, his club wanted £45 for him. I left it.

£8,000,000 and they want £45 and some marbles for him? I would have bit their hand off. 8-|

Ha sorry, I meant £45m. I think I had a budget of £60m at the time, but wanted to strengthen other parts of the team as well. I bought Douglas Costa for £15m instead but he was a flop.

I never spend big on players. Biggest this year is £20mill on Dzeko. Would rather get young players for cheaper that will become just as good

Most I've spent on any player is £32.5M I believe..

Most over a players valuation was £19.75M for Ashley Young was worth £8.25M at the time.

I prefer young players and try and get them so I can profit from any sale if they don't develop well...but if i feel an area needs urgent strenghtening i'll spend on an established player...my biggest was 60million for Hugo Lloris, which is an obscene amount to spend on a keeper, but desperate times....

I am about to spend £30m on Hamsik and is currently worth £12m. Is there any way to buy at a lower price?? It seems like you have to pay over the odds for good players, but the other clubs are perfectly happy to only offer the valuation of your top players and as soon as you add an extra few million they withdraw.

Board paid 34 million for Bale and 43 for Neymar (different games)

Bought Wesley Sneijder for Arsenal for HUGE money (can't remember how much now but I think it was £80M +)

In FM2011 I paid 39m sterlings for Agüero.
But the most I've ever paid for a player was in FM 2010 when I paid 65m... for Adebayor... to bring him BACK to City... after shelling out 12m to get rid of him. It's a long story... Let me tell you all about it:
My friend and I were playing LAN game for a five season stretch with Utd and City. I was City. I was stupid. I'd tried playing him as a target man, and when I got frustrated at his lack of goals I offered him 12m in a mutual termination to GTFO. Later on in that same season, I developed a monstrous 4-3-3 that relied on a poacher. My friend in the meanwile snapped Adebayor up for freesies for his Utd side - and of course he started scoring like a madman. The rest is (the most expensive transfer for a player I'd already owned in) history.

You have to spend over the odds on big players.. You will pay considerably less for a player who only has 1/2 years left on their contract but going for players with up to 5 years left on their contract is going to put a dent in your funds. I have just been buying regens and the odd kid that is suggested to me who they say can be better than a player who I already have. Only the odd times I have over-paid for big name players but most of the time, they struggle to get in to the squad and just mess up the whole harmony I have going, other players get upset at losing their place and the club just generally goes to pot.

I've found that when bidding for a player worth around £5m I first bid around £12m, then come back with £15m, then £18m. Then a lot of the time their club tell me they want £30m+, I then offer them £22m and 9 times out of 10 get my man. Maybe try this. But to be honest I don't think you will get Hamsik for much less than £30m.

Thanks for this, I do try and look for cheaper players generally, but I need a quick fix in my CM and with all the money I managed to earn this season I'm not too bothered if I pay over the odds for 1 player.

Here's the worst club valuation I think I've seen. For me, Jermain Defoe is always amazing, he's scored so many goals. So I had a Liverpool file and enquired about how much they'd want, £867m!!!!! Believe it or not I withdrew my offer

bought Cesc Febregas for Barcelona for £100m, think his value is between £20 - £30m so it was a lot over lol, plus he was gash for me, ouldnt fit him into my system.
