Ok stick with me on this as this is my first attempt at a story. I have decided to choose Southampton as the club for my first post. Here is a little information on the club:

  • Founded in 1885 Southampton Football Club is a professional English football team playing in the Coca Cola League 1, nicknamed The Saints. They retain a fierce rivalry with Portsmouth.
  • They play their home games at the St Mary's Stadium.

Am I the only person who thinks the Saints/Pompey rivalry is funny ad the team two divisions lower has a much bigger ground :D

Well the grounds bigger than ours :(
I think :)

Southampton appoint Flynn as manager
During a press conference at the St Mary's Stadium today, Southampton chairman Markus Liebherr announced that the club had signed former Irish player Robbie Flynn as the teams new manager. Mr.Liebherr stated that the club was very excited about the appointment and are looking forward to a bright future under Flynns management. Following the teams recent relegation Mr.Liebherr stated that the main aim was promotion back to the Coca-Cola Championship and subsequently have given the gaffer a budget of 1.5m for new players

Flynn meets media
Robbie Flynn today met the media for the first time since being unveiled as Southampton manager. Upon being asked if "Is this your dream job" Flynn responded by saying: "Im pleased to have the chance to work here. This is a fantastic club with a great history anf i am extremely excited about taking this club back to th top were it belongs. Another journalist then posed the question " Last season was one to forget for the fans with the club being relegated, how do you rate your chances of bouncing straight back?", Flynn replied:" I am confident that this club can win promotion whether by the playoffs or an automatic spot."

Potential transfers

  1. Andy van der Meyde (AML) FREE.
  2. Sol Campbell (DC) FREE
  3. John Fleck (AMC/L) LOAN
  4. Brahim Hemdani Free
If anyone has any suggestions dont hesitate. As you can see I will look to strenghten the defence first.:)

Daniel Opare (RB) - transfer listed start of season

Loan in a good striker coz i think u might need one (James Vaughan or Jo if they are listed)

Get a good goalie as well. (Try Sebastien Viera. Can get him on free)

sign hamed namouchi hes immense mate, and buy joszef kanta from MTK, hes better than anyone in league 1 within a few months

Try Lauren, he's free but old. Will provide in the first season (not sure about the wages though, might be too much for his skills).

There's also a guy called Baal (sorry, not sure about the first name).
I just found him in one save, and although his value is set at 1.4 million he was transfer listed for around 50k, and he is quite good and very versatile as he can play anywhere on the left side and even makes for a decent striker.
And last but not least, Nicolas Seube became a decent and cheap transfer when I played Leeds last.
And most certainly, go for Marco Verratti. If you approach him early you might get him, and he's certainly worth it.

For later on, there's two Prague players, Marek Suchy and Lubos Husek, whose contract runs out after the end of the first season. If you comment on them once in a while you might be able to sign them around January/February on a free for next season.
Anyway, good luck.
(BTW, do you still have the 10 points docked?)
