Where did my transfer budget go after i asked board to sign someone!!??

I asked the board to sign a player for me, i had a 5million budget, they said they would sign Derdiyok, an 8m offer was accepted and my 5m was taken out of budget, he then chose Sunderland instead of me. Now i have no transfer budget and the board wont give me any extra!

Any alternatives around this?
 
I think it's a glitch, I seem to remember some other posts about this around here somewhere. It happened to me as well and I couldn't find a way to get the money back, just one of those things.
 
Well I guess you can use your backup save. The game make automatic backups of the game each month.
 
it only makes back-up saves if you have rolling autosave turned on, so you may not have your game there...

He should have turned if off then, because autosave is a option that is turned on when you install the game.

Or wait until the january transfer window when they ask if you want to reevaluate your goals?
 
I thought about quitting and starting again but am having a good season with Atletico. Will wait until the summer and see what funds I get, I guess you learn from your mistakes, won't rush to buy a needless player in a hurry again!
 
I personally never ask the board to sign players. I never trust them if I can even convince them to do it in the first place.
