I completed my second season as Man Utd and I've been really torn on whether I should buy another player or not. I won the EPL my first season after buying Hazard. Second season I bought Douglas Costa, David de Gea, and Lukaku as my main signings and won the treble (EPL, FA cup, Champion's League).
Going into my 3rd season, Giggs and Scholes retired and I had sold off Hargreaves to RM for 20 mil. So right now I'm sitting on 60 mil for my transfer budget debating on who I should buy. I suppose I need another DM/ball-winning mid since I'm only one deep (Fletcher is good but tires and Gibson is well..). I play a 4-2-3-1 against higher tier teams and a 4-2-4 against mid level teams, and I really feel I need a decent playmaker. Anderson, Carrick, and D. Costa are all good, but I don't know if it's enough for later years. The other big clubs in EPL are buying everything they see and I don't know if I can stay competitive (I won both cups in a very flukey way.. Fiorentina eliminated Barca, Wigan eliminated Tottenham, etc). I would buy Pastore, except Palermo wants at least 45 mil for him, and Hamsik costs 35 mil. A lot of other viable players I see are around the level of my current players, so I'm really torn on what to do.
Phil Jones, Fabregas, Wilshere, Sneijder are all unwilling to sign.
Depth chart for Mid:
Ball-winning Midfielder: Fletcher, Gibson
Box-to-Box Mid/Playmaker: Carrick, D. Costa, Anderson
Wingers: Nani, Valencia, Hazard, Park
AMC: Rooney, D. Costa, Hazard.
TL;DR: I'm weak on my DMs and not sure if putting down big bucks on a Pastore-type is worth it. Advice/Suggestions?
