Hello guys, I'm Reading in my first season. I'm just wondering why i'm loosing a vast amount of money each month. I'm under my wage budget by 50k, loan debt for chairman of 60k a month ( im sure that isn't why im loosing so much money ) and i dont owe any clubs any money each month.. Anybody know why i am loosing money? Thanks.

could you post a screenshot of your finances please

sure here you go, i know its not loads of money.. But i'm only 2 months into the season. God knows how much i will loose towards the end of the season.

not many clubs are making money nowadyas even if they are operating within the budget. a budget is often set up purely to prevent catastrophic debt, but medium to high debt levels are almost seen as acceptable by the moneymen.

man u, liverpool, newcastle etc all in massive debt for example.

Have a look at wages, Sometimes people listed as 'not needed by the club' are on quite a lot of money.

so just to answer your question, dont worry too much about it. if you have realtive success as a as a club, eg good cup run, playoffs or promotion within a couple of seasons then the money will sort itself out

Ok thanks, was just getting worried if i would end up in major major debt and having to sell the majority of players. I should get promoted this season. Hopefully that'll bring in a bit of cash.

nah these budgets are set up in a way that on pitch success will balance the books and if you carry on succeeding the money men will make a tidy profit.

the problems come when you dont succeed on the pitch but carry on operating just within the budget, or even worse far exceeding its limitations, eg leeds and more recently, newcastle.

so spend away (sensibly) keep an eye on your finances for major issues, and football league prize money will balance you out in the end

Alright mate thanks for your help. Answered my question perfectly! I'll just carry on and see what happens. Yeh hopefully it should balance me out in the end.

Go to editor pick a team you hate, my pick is man city i just dont like them there the new chelsea. change there transfer budget to 2000000000, not the actual balance but there budget, save editor obviously and start your game add user to man city and pick ur fave team as second user, just get man city to pay 2000000000 for your worst player and you will have that budget to spend on players, the board do invest 1.1 billion of it which is given to back to you each season in the budget but you shud get about 1 billion to spend. Cheating i know but best cheat for money and u get to see the club you hate the most start off with -9 points and bankrupt

chj080482 your a genius. How did nobody ever figure that out before. Tell you what. The rest of us will try figure out how to do it without wrecking the game. Where is the limit.

Why not just add a manager for every team in the league.

its the loan isn't it unless you've bought someone and paying the transfer off monthly

noo because im loosing more than 60k a month.. and i have no people who are on the " monthly transfers".. I keep loosing money :/.. Each game i have around 19000 coming so i dont know why i am loosing so much. My balance is just over 500k now :/

A few issues you might consider:

- Appearance, goal scoring, clean sheet bonuses. If you are doing well in the Premiership you are probably paying out a lot of money in these type of bonuses. When I manage clubs like Reading I like to offer an incentive to my players with these type of things.

- Stadium capacity. How many fans are coming to your game? Are you at capacity or is the football you are playing not attracting fans.

- Lack of Financial Brains at Reading. Maybe the best your accountants can aim for is a day to day loss. The board would then expect your win bonuses to make this difference. Example: in a game I had with Spurs I would lose about £800k a month but final Europe and League position would give me about £40million per season.

I have looked at the expeniture and I'm loosing around 600k on Match day expenses each month.. What is this? Is there any way i can control it?

600k on match day expenses seems a large fee for a club like Reading? How are you doing in the league. Are these fees maybe due to your team performing well.

Have a look at your players. Are goal, assist and clean sheet fees very high. If it is you could be shelling out a lot of money. But maybe its worth it. Are you exceeding expectations. Maybe getting a lot of goals or something. Check player contracts.

Or the flip side is that they may have huge appearance fees. I know in some clubs star players can earn up to £10k per game just for taking to the pitch. These in my opinion should be as limited as possible.

I will happily put in huge rewards for my players. I am happy for my goalkeeper to earn 10k more every week provided he keeps a clean sheet every week. These kind of bonuses are investments or so I see them.

The other kind are training incentives used to help players develop and break into the first team. They offer nothing and should be reduce. Check the contracts for appearance fees.
