I find it strange that people edit their game. Why should you take the trill out of the game.Giving a team like leeds 50 million is totally wrong or a player like chartlon cole pace of 20..All your doing is making the game easy and it has to stop....Am I the only one that thinks this is making fM less competitive...Am sure they created FMRTE for a better reason not to cheat...u guys should really stop this

People don't do it to cheat. . . OK, maybe some do but I will say that is only a small amount. I have used the editor before but never to cheat I used to live close to Lowestoft who in the 2009 FM were on the game since then they haven't been. I have played around a little and put them in to the Blue Square with no money, kept the same stats on players etc. It's not about cheating for me or a lot of people its just to make a new game of something which could be a lot of fun.

why? because they bought the game for their enjoyment. Maybe it sucks for you to play that way, but there is nothing wrong and bad about it. That's what games should be for anyways.

And most of us edit our games to give new challenges, as well as interesting scenarios. Playing the same game over and over isn't very appealing to some of us.

I used to do things like create a team from scratch with me and my mates in it and see how far i got with that, i dont have the latest editor so i cant do it yet.

You need to take a look at yourself if what someone else does when privately playing their own game bothers you that much, get a life mate. I don't use the editor personally but it doesn't bother me that other people do, each to their own.

I use it to fix player attributes for my favorite team (Ajax). The Sports Interactive guys don't know everything so I correct a few things. Yesterday I added a few players ppm's so they match their real life playing stile.

It's not game breaking and it let's me enjoy my team more!

very few people cheat, if you look further through forums you will find endless databases for example san marino that have been created with the aim of winning the champions league with a san marinese club and bringing the san marino national side a world cup - without editing a single player

I tried editing this past week for the first time, just on the basic game editor. The League of Ireland IRL is currently a two tier system, so what I wanted to do was to expand it - make it into the pyramid system I have always dreamt of. In doing this, I did make one or two alterations to some of the clubs, generally to reflect what is happening in the real world: for example, Limerick now have a sugar daddy. The big problem is, I am not a Limerick fan, and to be honest, I would probably turn them down if offered the job. If anything, this is going to make it harder for whatever team I am managing - be it Duncannon, the small 5th tier club from a town of less than 1000 I am currently with, or, if requested by them, my home team of Waterford United.

Obviously, even with extensive testing of various elements of the editing, I am finding small errors (and the odd glaring one) here and there. However, I would say that the week of editing has been as enjoyable an experience as playing (and moreso than my first spell as Waterford manager on an earlier save). So, perhaps you could call it cheating to have made it possible for Duncannon to get a place where they could gain promoition from the bottom to the top. However, if one looks at things in the League of Ireland now, should they have someone invest lorryloads of cash in them, and they get a friendly ear in the right place, they could be invited in next year from almost scratch, much as Sporting Fingal and Wexford Youths were in real life in 2007.

i create new leagues such as san marino, or on past games i've created the BVI and USVI and expanded switzerland. also some people like a new challenge and will edit things accordingly, e.g. making teh english leagues upside down or creating a world league where you are playing against team like inter milan, manchester city and barcelona each week instead of wolves, wigan and bolton.

Many People Edit their game not to cheat, but to create differnet scenarios. For example, I made two divisions made up of the best teams in the world. I would have made it more coplicated but I am not good at using the editor :p
Anyway it doesn't matter, it is up to each induvidual how they play the game.

first of all guys, am not bothered, just wanted to know your opinions and it just as I thought most pips dont use the editor to cheat..All i was saying is that pips that do that dont know what they are missing out on

You're right. I should stop. I feel thoroughly ashamed. Dirty. I'm going in the corner to whip myself and learn the error of my ways.

I think this thread has run it's course tbh. Nothing more to add than what's already been added. Personal choice.

If people have bought the game, they can do whatever the **** **** they want with it. Just because you don't see the point in something, doesnt mean its wrong. Personally, i sometimes use the Editor, but its more to change some PA's, instead of transfer budgets and stuff, because i think some of the PA's of young players are nonsense (phil jones only having 174, neymar 187, balotelli 178 etc) because i dont want to rely on regens to make a good team in 10 years. Its my game and i'll do whatever the **** i want to make sure i get the most fun out of it.
