Why does the game run slower after a few seasons?

Hi just finished the 2014 season with 3 leagues loaded on small database, (PL, BBVA And Serie A). However the game has all of a sudden started running really slowly whilst processing etc. When I started it was going along really fast, hence why I used a small db but now it's just a joke how slow it's going. Any ideas how to speed it up?

Not sure but I think it's partly down to all the regens spawning, plus I seem to get loads of recommended subscriptions each season so you could look at that.

Well, the save-file gets bigger as your game proceeds. Eg. when I started my curren save, it only took up 13,842 kb, but now I'm in 2019 and it takes up 135,399 kb.
Or like @Rangers26 said, an increasing number of subscriptions.
It may also be a question of recently downloaded or installed things on your computer and such...

i think its because of the regens.
