I was playing a Nottingham Forest save and everything was going really smoothly. I get promoted in my first season in charge by sitting pretty on top of the Championship table. In the second season, I made a few great signings (Chyzhov, Buonanotte, Gary Medel etc) and my team is playing really really well. During the winter transfer window, my team is sitting in the 2nd place of the league (unbelievable eh?).

Then something disastrous happened. Arsenal made a 21.5 million bid for my Buonanotte and the board intervened. Being unable to do anything to stop the transfer from going through, I had been planning to sign a replacement for him and a player of at least half of Buonanotte's ability and are willing to join Nottingham Forest is of course, really really hard to find. Finally I've decided to buy Torbinskiy. But then, the fee I received from the selling of Buonanotte is only 5million (all the others were monthly installments). I couldn't buy anyone good with 5 million, so I request for more transfer budget, and they rejected me straight away. I issued an ultimatum and I was fired immediately.

I mean, I don't think they could find any manager that could bring them to the Premier League so fast and is actually playing really really well. All I need was a little more transfer budget and I was fired. Geez.

they don't like ultimatums, but yeh that was nasty and surelly forest will never get to 2nd again

Its maybe because it was only your 2nd season in charge, you still would have a low reputation in the game and on that outlook they decided to let you go rather than give in to your demands...

Nah I actually sort of cheated by starting my manager career as a "professional player". My reputation was World Class when I got sacked =(

Yea I know the feeling. I got Tamworth promoted and the board treated me like i'd just done a dump on the table while they were having a meeting
