Why my U-18 players never play for U-18 team?

Hi,

I am playing for Man Utd. I have a dozen or so players in Under 18 squad, mostly "new arrivals" from last March.
Interestingly, if you look at their history, they are never selected for U-18 games.

In U-18 games of MU, there are regularly 10 generated players and may be 1 mine (usually the one that was in the database, not generated).

When I check on the tactics screen for U-18, all players are eligible.

What's going on?

I haven't come across this problem, I don't think. Can you post screenshots, showing the problem.
Do you have a U-18 Coach? Is your team playing U-18 games regularly? Not quite sure why they aren't playing.

One thing I understood. Nobody from my MU U-18 squad is ever participating in U-18 matches. But those in U-21 squad who are young enough do participate.

Ok here is my U-18 squad, my last game, and the proof that I have U-18 coach.
Note that in my last game there is only two real players: Danny Smith and Matthew Willock, from my U-21 team

What's funny, the same players play no problem for U-21 squad.

Are your players playing other games, such as U-21 games? I'm not sure why they aren't playing the U-18 games. Maybe a bug..?

I think a bug I wonder how this can be fixed.

It might just be that save, because it hasn't happened to me and no one else has posted. Check the bugs thread for it maybe. Search the pages for keywords maybe if you do plan to go through it.

Same thing happened / happens at my Nurnberg save. I manually select the 11 young player to start in the Under-19s but the lineups never match and for some reason my worst youths always seem to get picked. But my second team (under21s or reserves) works just fine. Probably a bug

Give full control of the team to your u-18s coach. Make players avalible for u18s and make sure your team plays in the u18 league

You have your players made "available for reserves" (see "RSV" status). I think that is why they are lined-up primarily for U-21 matches and not used for U-18 matches.

What does it mean "full control of the team to your u-18 coach"? It is already his. They are "available" for u-18.
They are not lined up primarily for u-21

Erm, in your screenshot of your U18 team, most of the players have Rsv as their status. Indicates that almost all of them are playing for your U21's too. If that is the case, then your U18 manager obviously won't pick them due to over-working/fatigue. Hence, regens, etc.

Just select the players, right-click and then Squad -> Available for U21 -> Uncheck. It can be either simply available, or available until Match-fit w/e.

Ok it got fixed. I moved players around to u-21 and back and checked that they have the 'tick' in the right place.​
