Wide Central Defenders

I was wondering whether anyone could help with an issue im facing. When i play 3 at the back the two wider central defenders naturally cover the wings as well as helping the 3rd central defender in the middle. I was wondering whether anyone had found a way to get the central defenders to play this wide when there are only two central defenders. im hoping to play 2 cbs with a dm in a half back role in front of them but so far any attempt to do this just makes things congested at the back as the 2 cbs remain in the middle of the pitch and end up getting in the way more than actually helping the team.

Would you play them in the full back position or the wing back position

Wingback position also make sure you play someone in the HB with team mentality on attacking or overload

I posted about this a while ago, playing the full backs as wing backs doesn't make a difference, the only thing I tried was make the team play wider . But it just can't be done in a typical 4 at the back
