Hello fellow coaches,

I just started playing FM21 again after a month long break, and I can't help but notice that my wing backs and my wingers are playing terribly.
I started a Leicester career and I have Alassane Plea and Harvey Barnes "battling it out" for the left inside forward spot and can't decide who's worse. Same goes for competition between Marcus Edwards and Cengiz Under. All my wing backs also play terribly - Alex Grimaldo, Ricardo Pereira, Timothy Castagne, James Justin. No matter what tactic I try, what instructions... They just keep being terrible.

Has anyone had similar experiences as of late?

Here is a screenshot of their average ratings, and I do expect some people saying that's what I get for playing Castagne at GK, lol. :>

Yeah, it's been investigated for the last 7-10 days at SI but no fix yet.

All player ratings have been dramatically downgraded, the Match Engine is horrendous right now. Also, key tackles aren't being recorded either.

I sold my full backs and central midfielders for being awful but their contributions aren't being considered.

Oh, okay. I don't really follow SI forums much so I couldn't run across any bug report of such, which is ignorant of me. Thank you for the info nonetheless.

Do you perhaps know, while we're at it, if this has any affect over the course of the match, overall, or just player ratings being bad themselves?

The match engine is in complete shambles. This can't be fixed quickly either as player ratings can't just be bumped back up to what they've always been. They need another balance patch which will take time.

The other problem is simulated performances at other clubs are all normal, around 0.3-1.0 higher than the matches we manage. That affects the awards, transfer market and overall economy of the game world.

I can't get immersed in the game when I win a league with a team of 6.4-6.9 average ratings.

I feel you, man. All I'm doing lately is starting new career saves with teams I plan on playing with eventually, and taking care of the first transfer period, preparing the team for the season. Once the transfer period ends, the save goes into hibernation until the fix is out. Doesn't fully satisfy the desire to play the game, but at least it's something.
