Will transfer updates be affected by new patch

Hey sorry I know could be a noob question, but I'm still adjusting to this franchise

Anyway I was wondering if I download a transfer update such as LFC's transfer update, when the new patch comes out can I just automatically apply this to my game to get all the bug fixes etc? Or would I have to start a new save ?

You will still get the bug fixes and ME update in your ongoing saves. just not the transfer/player update stats.
