winning the champions league with a club from a smller nation

Just wanted to find out how long people have had to play to be able to win the champions league with a club from a smaller nation. I am currently managing Shakhter Karagandy In the hope of eventually winning a European cup.

I am starting my 4th season won the league 3 years In a row, just a lot harder to make the step up from league to ECC as I have yet to win a group game in the 2 seasons I have made the group.

I won all 3 of my GS games vs PSG, Arsenal and CSKA. Finished 3rd.

the squad rules in the league is what is keeping me back at the moment only aloud 5 foreign players to play an 7 in squad, so its holding me back until some off my regens start developing.
