I'm at the office right now, so can't really test but I felt like jotting down what I'm planning on doing with a tactic. It's going to revolve around a regista.
This is what I'm thinking to start:
CD(D)--BPD(D)--CD(D)
---------RGA(S)
DW(S)-CM[A]-RP-DW(S)
-------F9(S)TM[A]
Instructions: shorter passing, work into box, play out defense, look for overlap, play narrower, drop deeper, close down more, higher tempo, play more expressive
Initially I thought about trying to go with a halfback next to the regista and only two CB, but I've always read/heard that the regista is best when no one else is nearby. The general idea is to give the regista plenty of outlets in front of him to distribute to. The defensive wingers (which I would play wing backs at) would provide width as well as marking their wide threats (might OI this in by default to man mark wide players).
The false nine would pick up some of the depth between the midfield and distribute up to the target man.
Essentially I want the regista to dictate the flow of the game. Flip it to opposite flank if need be, try killer through balls if need be. Just drive the whole offensive attack.
I'm still undecided if I want to shoot for pure possession and control or potentially a counter tactic. I will likely setup both for different situations.
Was also thinking for lower league teams dropping the defensive wingers down to wingbacks on the backline.
Thoughts, suggestions?
