Ok for my post ever on this forum I thought id share this little idea. It all started with me looking for an ok tactic so I downloaded a few as you might see in the screen shots.. The one that I liked the most is (it works tactic) from this site. I played a few games with this tactic, watching all the games and seeing nothing but shooting from range with my attacking Mid, Wingers, and striker. So I thought just change a few things to make them take less shots so they hold onto the ball and pass or cross into the box then take a shot. Take a look at the last three games Ignore the rest as this was before I edited player roles.

Next we have the Tactic and how the players are set. feel free to copy and give it a try... I have the goalkeeper set to defend. My lone ST was first set as poacher but wasn't scoring anything and it was mostly my defenders coming in the a goal here n there. So I changed my ST to Trequartista Attack changing this made my striker score almost as soon as he got the ball and came close loads of times plus netting 2 and has netted in all of the last 3 games.

So now I've got my striker to score I was still wondering why all the long shots from about 20 yards?? So I start to wonder if my players are set to shoot from range. Once I see they are all set to shoot from range I now know the problem with us giving the ball away for a shot we will most likely miss 9 times out 10. So I have set the striker to Shoot less often as he will wait to play a pass to get him self in the box ready for a return pass or cross.

The next problem I had was my attacking Mid. every time he ended up with the ball from about 20 yards out he would also take on the shot meaning he will either miss, keeper saves or hits it at the defenders for them to clear the ball or make a counter run on us so to stop this I've gone for the same again as it was working with my ST

For the final part of this is my left winger. And I've gone for the old man Utd idea that they did with Ronaldo. Keep forward if you have a quick winger and shoot less as the idea is to keep the ball and get it into the box for a shot the keeper cant save or will push away so we can try for the rebound or keep hold of the ball and pass and work for space to take on the shot in the box.

So now you know what you need to do if you want more chances in the box and defo get your ST to score at least 2 a game or maybe 3. Like I said though I've only just tried this in the last 3 games but the reason why I tried this was because I lost to Tottenham and Man City by giving the ball away and shooting 20 yards out. So I knew I had to stop this and keep the ball more as well as get the ball into the box. Let me know if your team play better with this setup.
