Hi guy's.
So, i was sitting at home, just like you guy's, and i was watching Spain getting wrecked by Chile with that 3 at the back formation.
The short passing, the counter's, and the fluidity(?) of both Alexis Sanchez and Vargas, followed by Vidal, was just amazing.

So, i decided to read some articles and tactical analysis about this particular match and about chile's formation.

World Cup Tactical Analysis: Spain 0 - 2 Chile - Outside of the Boot
The World Cup: Tactical Interpretations for FM14

So i finally came up with this:

3 Central Defenders: 2 BPD - Stoppers and 1 CD - Cover (Silva, Jara, Medel)
2 Wingbacks : both on attack Duty (Isla, Mena)
2 BWM : 1 Support - 1 Defend (Anarguiz, Diaz)
1 Adv Playmaker - Attack (Arturo Vidal)
1 False Nine (Alexis Sanchez... what a beast)
1 Adv Forward (Eduardo Vargas)

Team Instructions:
-Drop Deeper
-Hassle Opponent
-Get Stuck In
-Use Tighter Marking
-Be more Expressive
-Run at defence
-Higher Tempo

And these were the result's

In all these years of FM-base, it's my very first time submitting something "Big" like this. So if i miss something important, or maybe u guy's just wanted some more in-depth about this tactic, please let me know. I'm having so much fun playin' with this that i felt that maybe this was my time to share something with you guy's.

Feel free to ask anything you want.
Kind regards,
João "kanubes" Botas

Is there any OI? Also should you change to attack if you're favorite to win the match?

hi @marcus2596

I leave the OI to my assistant (Benevan). I don't use this tactic if i am favorite to win the match. I use those two that i have (barcelona v2 and 3-5-2 counter).
Think of this tactic for defend/counter purposes only. Usually people tend to create just one tactic (sometimes when they create the second one, it's often a variation of the first one) and use it all season long. Well, you can use this Chilean counter to fulfill dat third "gap".
There is no need to create a new save to try it. This is not like a club tactical philosophy.

Have you tested this tactic against weaker opponents to be sure? If it's not good is there a link to the more attacking tactic that you use? Also, what training do you use in pre-season, during the season, whether there is rest and match preparations for both?

Yes, i did. You have a SS against Catania in the SuperCup. There is no link, but i can upload both of them.
During pre-season i use General Training : Fitness (High) for the first two-three weeks, and then i change to Tactics Only. If i bought several players (+6 for example), during mid-late August i change the General training to Team Cohesion. Match training during pre-season is always Tactics Only.
During season , i just go Balanced (Average) - Attacking Movement.
30% on match prep. Allow rest after match.
