St Mirren 4 - 4 Celtic - Boruc Masterclass on 'how not to be a keeper' leaves Celtic red-faced. - SPL
Samaras, Brown, Caldwell, McDonald

Celtic keeper Boruc today took between the sticks for a 2nd consecutive match after keeping a clean sheet vs Inverness, however he soon made Nelson pay for resting first-choice Zaluska. After 6 minutes Boruc stalled on his line allowing St Mirren to take a 1-0 lead from close range, Celtic equalised before the break but just after St Mirren once again took the lead. Then came the biggest blunder for keeper Boruc when they score was at stalemate, 2-2 he charged from his box to receive a long ball towards him at his feet, only to be robbed and have flashbacks of Moscow happen all over again. To round of a terrible performance, a weak cross in the 90+1st minute when Celtic lead 4-3 should have been easy to hold, but Boruc spilled and after a tussle in the box, A late equaliser was scored.

Celtic masterclass leaves Sporting Lucky with draw

Celtic came into the Europa league with great confidence, and showed it. They out played Sporting in every area, perhaps creating more chances than the home side, both goalkeepers pulled out many fine stops to keep the game level and Celtic with a well deserved point.

In an interview after the match Celtic boss Nelson said "I feel we where the better team, however both keepers where tremendous and a draw is a fair result. It sets up an exciting game at Celtic Park."

Manager Nelson response to Sporting defeat:

I think this highlights the fact that despite the work I have done here, we are still a long way of competing in Europe, it took one moment of less concentration, just one, and the game was out of our hands. We created well but could not finish, and fair play to sporting, they won on the night.
