Just wanted to find out how you go about developing young talent. On here, loads of people are saying stuff like "get him to tutor him" etc... but with a youth squad of like 20 and a large reserve squad, it takes hours and hours to sort each individual player out. How do you narrow down who you do and don't focus on developing?

Kick out any youths that you didn't want.

don't be lazy, that is the only and the best way to facilitate youth development along with playing time (1st team) it will honestly take you about 10 minutes to get about 6 or 7 players tutored (if you have that many good tutors)

i generally use the stars on the report thing to judge who to work on and who to leave

I normally try to tutor and get players with 2 and half stars at least of PA to reach their highest potential

I see, so what sort of stats on a player would I be looking at for a successful tutor?

determination, teamwork, work rate, PPM's that you want to pass down and personality types, Model Professional/Determined etc

Just to confim, I am assuming players that I send out on loan, I don't need to worry about tutoring etc because they will be at a different club anyway?

i kick any 'unambitious' players , and keep players who will be trained to their max.
then i select tutors for the right youngster, based and position play, and them out on loan or play some reserve games. in the end of the season i evaluate them, and bring them into the XI team or to a higher lvl, and offload unwanted player to free up some cash. ;P

Well what if my first team is so good and full of other young players that my youngsters just aren't good enough for the first team? I play with BVB where 9 of 11 players that play regularly are under 23, and in my game i bought other young players. Other teams don't want to loan my players and my second team plays in the 4. league, which is not represented in FM11. How can i bring them to their maximum potential?
