I have a youth team player who has just joined my youth team he is 15 and wanted by Liverpool and tottenham, I was just wondering what age can I ask for a fee without them being able to poach him for nothing??? I'm currently Aldershot town fc in league 1, he has also just been called up for England u19s

Yes youth players do not have contracts protected, if he is that good, make him sign a pre-contract that will help & stop other teams poaching him for free. Once he turns professional then you can sell him if you want

He has signed a pre contract I can
Only hope he doesn't get poached!

If he's signed a pre-contract then they can't poach him for free. Any bids Liverpool and Tottenham make will come through you first, so you'll have the choice whether to reject or accept them :)

Really? I hope so!! I thought they could get him and pay compensation??

That's only when he hasn't signed a pre-contract, but he has so there shouldn't be any problem. By signing a pre-contract, he's promising to sign professionally for Aldershot when he turns 17, which means he won't be able to turn his back on you and sign for Liverpool or Tottenham unless you accept a bid for him. When a player HASN'T signed a pre-contract, THEN a club can poach a youngster and only have to pay compensation. Making him sign a pre-contract cancels out all of that :)

Try putting his asking price up, that should put teams off of him.

If he's on a youth contract you should get compensation if they sign him
