Just as Jake said... You will find that the speed will fluctuate year on year as staff retire from the game aswell. So hopefully this will be your 'slow' year, and next year may speed up a little as the game changes it's staff members/players.

Yes, they'll work as either. As stated earlier Babacar is perhaps the better option - he tends to mature quicker, but will be more expensive. I'd definately give Lukaku a go though, he plays very well alongside Love.

Lukaku does work alongside Vagner Love, I can vouch for that. They're pretty fantastic together to be honest.

You could always use Genie Scout... it gives you the exact price that you would have to pay for each player. I don't use it myself because it takes the fun out of the game, but it does give you a definate answer to how much you'd have to pay for each player.
