I totally agree with your point - I thought I was doing the best thing, making use of the best players but that didn't benefit the team on the whole. Lesson learned there!
I was actually a bit cheeky and tried this out on Man Utd - raw. As in, I didn't make a counter tactic for lower teams or more defensive aware for bigger teams (Real Madrid) but I'm pretty pleased with the results.
I didn't do anything - no new players, no training, just straight on holiday...
I haven't tried it in any other league yet, but can try in the conference tonight for you if you like. I can post results up. Who shall I be? Barnet? More lower end or just mid table?
Just done this on another thread, but I'm doing an experiment in my game where I'm trying to fix my tactic so it works again and gets results - the idea being that people like you can work out their issues and make a tactic that works themselves :) check it out here if you're interested.
