I'm surprised people get good results with two F9 strikers. All my F9s seem to do every move is turn around an shoot the ball into space from anywhere on the pitch. I often end up games with 25+ shots but like 15 long shots and I'm happy if even 5 of my shots go on target.

I only tested it on Classic and you can't remove any PPMs there, at least not manually they either get removed automatically or not at all. But yeah I get what you mean some PPMs can be really counterproductive to what you are trying to do tactically.

Actually I think the formation is still pretty good. Gladbach won the Bundesliga in one of my save games where I managed in a lower league with a 4-4-2 with 2 DMs so I reckon it can still work with a few tweaks.
