A standard - flexible approach with no TI's - Can it work?

Don't get me wrong here. He might have some insights I'd be happy to hear. But basically, I have no life and spend all my time playing this game, with no knowledge of real life football. And I like to win at my games. I have over 10000 hours spent in last three fm's alone, so I think I know what...

I know how counter attacking works and what ti's, mentality and team shape to choose, a lot better then those guys over there. http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/football-manager-2015-tactics/328535-my-presets.html#post2742734 I posted it here

Well, you seem to know what a counter is, but you refuse to call it a counter? When you go up against an attacking team, stronger then yours, what do you think is going to happen? They will push up and try to stretch you and score against you, that's what. In the process, their pushing up will...

First of all I'm not an idiot. Second, go talk to your mom with that tone and language, not me. Third, every time a player uses his off the ball movement, there is a chance a deeper player will spot him and initiate a counter. It will happen more often the deeper you play, and it will execute...

You asked for confirmation instead of testing it for yourself? And those brilliant minds at si forum told you this? Well, that explains it. You probably never learned what counter stands for, which is why you push up and tackle harder in your own thread with counter tactic. Do you only repeat...

You're wrong. If you come against an opponent that pushes high up, you will do counters after wining the ball no matter what mentality you choose.

1st four games: zero goals conceeded, 3 out of 4 victories

You're missing the point here. Counters are something that happen when requirements for that are met. Of course you will have more counter opportunites with counter and defend mentalites, because you draw the opposition onto you. But that's about it. Just more opportunites. With standard...

I thought counters are done automatically in any mentality when requirements are met?

I'm not sure what you are talking about. My memory isn't that good. Anyway, I think I'm off to bed. I don't even like Raymond today.

So I should use two wide attacking mids then?

Partially correct. FM is very advanced, and I doubt even the mods on that forum know the coders thought process. The game is actually brilliant, but still just software, with it's set of rules. Even if I wasn't correct about 6 sec pressing, if I remember correctly, my argument was about him...
