I know competitive rivalries can be formed in the game as I've seen them from custom databases where I've simmed far into the future, but I've never noticed any...

I got Destro for £10m playing as Newcastle at the start of the second season and he's got 22 goals in 24(4) PL games so far. If he's still at Bologna I'd definitely recommend him.
