I aim for far post and end up scoring a lot of near post goals.

Getting rid of the sliders was the best thing they did with the game. You don't have to have everybody pressing or nobody pressing. Just like you would in the old tactical interface, if you don't want them to close down, you tick the close down less on player instructions for a particular player...

I said in the opening post that I started using it a few seasons in. It should work though Same tactic. Rarely, but mainly change width and exploitation.

Match engines are the same. Only good thing about classic mode is that there is no tactical familiarity to deal with.

Never once have I changed my formation based on what opposition are vulnerable to. I will look at where they are weakest and where they get most of their assists from though.

Depends on the players at your disposal. There's no "best tactic" for every team, there's a best tactic for your team.

1. Do your central defenders have pace? Are they intelligent? Things that you might want to look at if they are playing rubbish. 2. Because you can't defend against them? Give your team defending set piece training. 3. Lack of intelligence, poor passing etc etc. People are literally saying...

Just had Suarez and Sturridge score 41 goals between them with 24 assists. Sturridge as a DLF support and Suarez behind him as a Treq.

Do you honestly expect to get a serious answer to your post when you provide no details of your team, tactic etc? Perhaps you just played rubbish? Drop in form? Complacency?

Top players don't always score 40 goals for seasons on the trot, that's just not really very realistic. Sure, Ronaldo and Messi do it, but how many others? What you're implying is, that if you have a tactic that wins and scores a lot of goals one season, that should continue. Not very realistic...

Fernando Torres... need I say more. Clear cut chances do not equate to goals. We've been so used to this in the past, but reality is, not every CCC gets converted in real life. Plus, if you look at the other strikers in the game who can score 30 goals a season, it proves it's not the match engine
