Playing with Roma too just finished 2nd season starting 3rd with new tactic 4-2-2-2:
Courtois - Peruzzi, Jones, Balanta, Alberto Moreno - Romero, Strootman - Florenzi, Depay - Cavani, Lukacu
hi guys! this is my first tactic posting.
as you can see i have no screens of future results as i have just started my save. however playing this game a lot of years i can consider this tactic solid and successful from the beginning!(H)
it is a fluid attacking 4-3-3 with really high pressure...
I agree with zAhHH. The AF/TM should have a more direct pass approach to take advantage of the Poacher or Wingers/IF. So i also tick the Hold Ball.
The Poacher should have Move into channels and Close down less in order to always be at the edge of offside. This is how i play them.
in my opinion if you want your strikers to score the combination is Poacher-Advanced Forward or Target Man-Advanced Forward. If you are playing with only 1 striker then AF.
i had the same team as the photos attached (but balanda-zapata instead of doria-mexes) and the same formation and roles (but complete full backs sitting narrow instead of full backs). The only difference is that i used a counter/rigid approach with direct passing+pass into space+hassle+D-line)...
I was wondering if the ppm "hits free kicks with power" leads to the oposite desired result. I have quintero who has the free kick attribute equal to 19. After I trained him to hit free kicks with power he hasn't score any goals from free kicks. Do you think some ppms can cause the oposite result?
